"Terrified" is a song by Jazmin Bean. It was released on October 13, 2023, as the the third single from their debut studio album, Traumatic Livelihood, and is the fourth track on the album.
On March 18, 2023, Bean posted a snippet of the song via TikTok.[1] Later on September 11, Bean shared a new snippet of the song again on TikTok where they also revealed the title.[2] They later revealed that their record labels told them to do this, along with with wanting to post another snippet of the song after posting one in their Discord server.
On October 1, 2023, Bean shared a post via Instagram teasing the song and music video with the caption "Something coming very 🔜 ⭐️"[3]
On October 3, 2023, Bean shared a snippet of the video and song along with its release date and pre-save link.[4] Once the song was pre-saved, the page redirected to another featuring an image of a flower field where you were instructed to find all the stars for a surprise.[5] One of the surprises was a snippet of the song, performed live at their show in Paris, France, on September 27, 2023.[6] Another surprise was a snippet of the music video.[7]

The song talks about Bean's first healthy relationship. In the song, Bean is terrified, as they have trauma from their past abusive relationships. However, as they stay longer in the relationship, they feel more safe and cared for by their partner. The stars in the music video also represent this healing process, being healed by Bean and flying into the sky.
