Jazmin Bean Wiki

"Shit Show" is a song by Jazmin Bean, released on February 23, 2024 and released alongside the album. It is the fifth single from Traumatic Livelihood, and the seventh track on the album. It was later released as a promotional single for the album.[1]

Background[]

The song was confirmed to be on Traumatic Livelihood through an interview Bean did with DIY Magazine. It was also said to be one of the first three songs written for the album, along with “Favourite Toy” and “Traumatic Livelihood”.

On February 17, 2024, Bean made an Instagram story talking about the song,[2] as well as a video posted on Instagram and TikTok.[3][4]

"Um, Shit Show is actually, if not my favorite, one of my favorite songs on the album. Its gone through so much evolution. It's kind of the first song I made where Iike 'Oh my god, I'm actually like really good at this music thing.' I wish that I could listen to it with like fresh ears like everyone else cause I love the song and all the strings and I just feel like its so theatrical and kind of really blurring genres which I always appreciate. "
-Jazmin Bean

Theme[]

The lyrics tell a story about someone who's been screwed over by a person pretending to be all good and humble. It's like realizing they were just playing a game. The theme is all about calling out the lies, dealing with the hurt, and eventually finding the guts to get back at the manipulator. The vibe goes from feeling vulnerable to getting stronger, and you can imagine it with visuals showing the journey from being fooled to breaking free.

Bean aldo stated on the song in their Traumatic Livelihood individual song themes that:

"Shit Show is for the people wanting to put the nail in a much overdue coffin despite the body yelling noooo!!. Good riddance.
#manchild"
