"Revenge is a brittle rope" (stylized in all lowercase) is an unreleased freestyle by Jazmin Bean. It was recorded during the sessions of their debut studio album, Traumatic Livelihood, however, it was not intended for the project or formal release.
Background[]
Bean posted a video of them playing the freestyle with a accordion via Instagram[1] and TikTok on April 23, 2023, with the caption:
"Accordion freestyle . Revenge is a brittle rope . Also this jumper makes me look like I have a small head" | ||
Theme[]
The song seems to be about the feeling of hurt or betrayal from a person. In the song the narrator recants how the person who hurt them was like a parasite with no insides, which is likely a metaphor for how the person was empty and sucked the life out of others due to that. The narrator talks about only they understand them while no one else can't, possibly implying that only they know their true self or how the person has groomed them into thinking like this.
The repeated phrase "Everything I do is for you", likely shows how the narrator did everything for them, but got only hurt in return. At the end of the song the narrator is wishing death at the person who hurt them, wishing they burn alive inside their house.
