The song seems to be about the struggles during life and wanting someone to help you. The song uses religious metaphors were "Mary" is friends with "Jesus" and how he helps her during her struggles. The narrator seeing this becomes envious of "Mary" having a friend who is willing to help her as the narrator's mental health spirals down.
