"It's not my fault (it's yours)" (stylized in all lowercase; also stylized as "Its not my fault its yours"[1]) is a single by Jazmin Bean released on August 16, 2024. It is the lead and only single for the extended edition of Traumatic Livelihood as well as the closing track.
Background[]
On July 5, 2024, Bean posted a video on TikTok where they were in the studio with Jessica Winter. Later, they posted another video with Winter and Wuh Oh in the studio. On the same day, they posted a snippet of the song on their Twitter, with the description being the lyrics "Got loads of therapy and it turns out I'm still a bitch".[2]
Bean posted a video on TikTok using a verse of the second demo as the sound. They later went on to use the sound on more videos.
On August 3, 2024, Bean posted a video using the song on their TikTok, and in the comments, a fan said "WE NEED THIS TRACK DROPPED JAZMIN 🤍", Bean replied with "Is coming 🌸", confirming the song would be released soon.
On August 11, 2024, Bean performed the full second demo on the festival Bludfest. Before the song began, Bean said that this song would be released next Friday, August 16, 2024.[3]
