Background[]
The demo and lyrics of the song were teased in 2023.
The song was revealed to be the twelfth track on Traumatic Livelihood, first prematurely through Apple Music, then through a official announcement for the album on February 21, 2023.
Bean posted a video to TikTok, Spotify and Instagram stating while making the song they tried to mix trip hop and country, which are two genres they didn't do before and weren't thinking about doing until near the end of the album process. As they didn't have time to do both genres with two different songs, they decided to mix the two genres into one.
